Remembered back in Singapore during my childhood days I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth but plenty of tofu and "tow gay" when the time is bad my dad usual phrase in hokkien or mandarin " lucky that you still have something to put in your mouth. A twist of fate tofu now is considered a healthy lifestyle dish. Guess my dad will turn in his grave if he knows about it !! Our dish of tofu is garnished with vingear and sweetened with brown sugar to create a mixture of sour and sweet taste that "melt in your mouth and not in your hand".
