In an interview with reporters Wednesday after the Red Mass at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila, Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. said retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Jose Angel Honrado will take over the post vacated by Melvin Matibag.

"Yes," Ochoa told reporters who asked whether it was true that Honrado will be the new MIAA general manager.

He did not give further details.

Honrado once served as Armed Forces spokesman during the Arroyo administration. His last position in the military was deputy chief of staff for reservists and retirees affairs.

Honrado was also a member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) during the incumbency of the late President Corazon Aquino, the mother of President Aquino. — Jam Sisante/RSJ
