The importance of the sardine was, and is so great that it was adopted in many proverbs,country and culture. During my childhood day, I remembered sardine was bill as poor man food, it once parts of my army field camp ration like the proverb saying “There is no food worse than the sardine nor an ass worse than a donkey ”
However, it's high time society give sardine their place and merit in the world, the simple way in which we do it by eating with our hands and a piece of bread or we cooked sardine mixed it with Chinese "Mee Sua" good for breakfast ,lunch or dinner. The are many brand of sardine in the market 555 happen to be favorite, like the brand name implied when you open the can they were 5 sardine inside, the sauce is thick and spicy hot, do not have those strong pungent smell like some other brand. No longer is a poor man food, sardine is parts of chef menu ,in Singapore big name franchise like Old Chang Kee had incorporated curry puff sardine in their chain of store. Sardine are rich in minerals can be cooked and consumed in variety of ways like straight out of a canned,grilled,pickled,smoke just to name a few. Made in Philippine Ok la
