The 10th Philippine Food Expo is organized by the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization (Philfoodex), Inc., the biggest umbrella organization of food manufacturers and exporters. The event is supported by the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Philippine Exporters Confederation. It is scheduled on February 24-27, 2011, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City with the theme "Food Safety Management Standards in the Global Market." Known as the only all-Filipino Consumer event in the country, Philippine Food Expo expects to gather the best Pinoy food products in one venue. It will showcase native food products of various provinces. It will promote the country's quality food products which are still unknown to the world market. The event like culinary chefs will compete in a showdown to be hosted by the Philippine Women's University Department of Hospitality and Management.
The 1st Food Styling and Photography contest will also be held on this day. The First Philippine International Cacao Conference and Exhibit will be held as a venue for cocoa farmers and buyers to discuss industry trends. In the Expo they had discussion on organic farming; food processing and its effect on environment change; food safety; application of cleaner production technology in the food industry; food safety management system and the Halal management system; healthy salads and dressing preparations; food safety; kosher certification; and trademark and intellectual property rights. There will also be cooking and fruit and vegetable carving demonstrations.
