News Update Ramon' changes course, moves towards Mindoro

ropical depression “Ramon” has changed directions and is now approaching the island of Mindoro.
“Ramon,” which has maintained its strength with maximum sustained winds of 55kph, is now moving northwest with speeds of 15kph. Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 is still up in Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, Southern Quezon, Burias Island, Northern Palawan, Calamian Group of Islands, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Panay Island, Guimaras Island and Metro Manila.
An earlier update from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) named one casualty. Daryll B. Gales, 20, from Brgy. Manila de Bugabus in Sta. Cruz, Butuan, was buried alive while performing small-scale mining. Meanwhile, an unidentified fisherman from Palo, Leyte has gone missing since 6 a.m. today. The agency said that 373 families in nine barangays in Cebu, Misamis Oriental, South Cotabato and Dinagat Island have been affected.
According to a 5 p.m. update from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the center of “Ramon” was estimated at 70km southwest of Romblon or at 70km east southeast of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. The tropical depression is expected to be 230km west of Calapan City by tomorrow afternoon and 550 km west of Vigan, Ilocos Sur by Saturday morning.
