MANILA (AP) - The Philippines has deported 67 Chinese allegedly involved with an international syndicate that engaged in Internet and credit card fraud.
Immigration investigation chief Arvin Santos said in a statement on Wednesday that the suspects are accused of luring customers from China and Taiwan into buying goods and services online but diverting the money.
He said the 67 were arrested last week at houses in two Manila suburbs. They were flown to Beijing on Friday and won't be allowed to re-enter to the Philippines.
Police said China had requested that the suspects be investigated.
