A small plane with six people on board has crashed in a popular northern Philippine mountain resort city. One of those on board was killed while five others were injured.
Jojo Valera of the Office of Civil Defense says the six-seater plane crashed Sunday in a horse-riding trail in Camp John Hay, a former U.S. military recreation area, shortly after taking off from Baguio city's airport.
Valera says one person on board was killed while five others were injured and taken to a hospital in Baguio, a popular tourist destination about 130 miles (210 kilometers) north of Manila. Baguio, known as the country's summer capital, is famous for its cool weather, pine trees and scenic mountain scenes.
Officials say the plane was bound for northern Bulacan province.
