kopi talk 'Anybody with an idea, just go for it'

MANILA, Philippines - Swatch Philippines and Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Philippines recently collaborated for the new Habitat Watch by Swatch.
Themed "Building Blocks of Time," the partnership will benefit the Youth Build 2012, a project of HFH Philippines as supported by its Habitat Youth Council (HYC) division. The Youth Build 2012 on May 12, 2012 aims to gather 2,000 volunteers from different schools and youth organizations to build 200 homes in Brgy. Tanza, Navotas City. Youth empowerment and social involvement are encouraged through volunteerism.
Swatch Philippines produced a limited-edition line of silver watches with silicone straps for the project. Proceeds from the sale of the watches will augment funds for the Youth Build 2012. A Habitat Watch by Swatch in white will be available early next year.
Incoming HFH Philippines CEO Charlie Ayco says that HFH volunteers and partners "were thrilled" about the recent collaboration with Swatch Philippines. "This is the kind of partnership that we are excited about because it also brings to the public's consciousness the need of empowering families for a community-led change that our country needs," he relates.
The Habitat Watch by Swatch was recently launched at Greenbelt 5 in Makati City. Swatch Philippines owner Virgie Ramos graced the event along with Habitat Ambassadors and Swatch icons Matteo Guidicelli, Chris Tiu, and Derek Ramsay. HYC president Isabel M. Francisco was also present, together with fellow HYC officers Kevin Yang and Simon Tantoco.
