Former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was rushed to the hospital Monday, hours after President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III delivered his second State of the Nation Address.
Spokesman Maite Defensor said Arroyo was in St. Luke's Taguig. It was not immediately clear why Arroyo had to be rushed to the hospital.
Earlier in the day, Arroyo was present in the opening of the Second Regular Session of the 15th Congress in the House of Representatives but she skipped the Aquino's SONA. She then proceeded to Pampanga for several activities.
Arroyo was previously confined in the hospital in June due to cervical radiculopathy or pinched nerve.
Though Aquino did not heavily bash the former president in his speech, the Akbayan Party announced that they will file plunder charges against Arroyo Tuesday with the newly appointed Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales.
