The Filipino are practical, loving and emotion peoples. Every now and than we had those really urgent natural call, no matter what you do even you can try plug in with a big caliber magnum gun up your ass , you need to go mean you REALLY need to go. The catch is where is the damn toilet ! unless you in the outback you can just do it here and then. Instinctively, finding a tiolet is your main mission in life. Seeing one is like seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Going in and do your stuff the feeling is like indescribable ecstatic sense of relief and comfort. Only Filipino able to capture that essence of that momentarily feeling to name the toilet Comfort Room. I rest my case.

In our restaurant, we used a computer to play MP3 music and song for my dining guests. As like any other computer system, ours are loaded up with song ,music MP3 4,5 and wonder what goes in there, I only realized that is time for me to clean up my pc. When my customers so gracefully told me that I play the same album twice? Guess that the most common mistake I had copy the whole music album again. Having a real dining experience, music is a contributing factor to create an acoustic relax environment for my guests to enjoy a great meal. However, can you imagine , sitting down in front of the PC trying to delete every duplicates MP3, better to cook than spend hours doing a tedious tasks. Lucky break for me I download a software that can tidy songs for me their software is also know as tidy song as for this case I never accidentally duplicate my typo the software is down to earth knows as tidy songs , by the way this is their link.... enjoy

Kopi Talk - Amateur treasure hunter Terry Herbert discovered a massive collection of gold and silver crosses

LONDON - AN UNEMPLOYED British man has unearthed the biggest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver ever found, while out with his metal detector in a field, archaeologists said Thursday.
The treasure trove of at least 1,350 items, including five kilogrammes (11 pounds) of gold and 2.5kg of silver, was found by 55-year-old Terry Herbert in a farmer's field near his home in Burntwood, central England.
The haul, found in July and potentially worth a fortune, was officially declared treasure on Thursday by a coroner, who under English law decides the status of such finds.
It is believed to date from the seventh century AD, and may have belonged to Saxon royalty. The treasure includes sword pommel caps and hilt plates, many inlaid with precious stones.
'This is absolutely phenomenal. When I first saw the material I was absolutely staggered,' said Mr Duncan Slarke, finds liaison officer for the county of Staffordshire, who was the first professional to see the hoard.
'To see the volume and the quality of this Anglo-Saxon precious metalwork was absolutely stunning and I was literally speechless.' Mr Herbert described the day he found the treasure, including a spooky detail before he set out for his day's detecting.
'I have this phrase that I say sometimes; 'spirits of yesteryear take me where the coins appear', but on that day I changed coins to gold,' he said.
'I don't know why I said it that day, but I think somebody was listening and directed me to it... This is what metal detectorists dream of, finding stuff like this. But the vast amount there is is just unbelievable.' While the value of the treasures has not yet been decided, it will likely make Mr Herbert a rich man - he is expected to share the money with the farmer in whose field it was discovered, after it has been officially valued.
'It's been more fun than winning the lottery,' said the jobless Briton, who took up the sometimes scorned hobby of metal detecting 18 years ago, and made the find with his trusty 14-year-old detector.
'People laugh at metal detectorists. I've had people go past and go 'beep beep, he's after pennies'. Well no, we are out there to find this kind of stuff and it is out there,' he said. One expert told him it was like finding Tutankhamen's tomb, he said. 'I just flushed all over when he said that. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, you just never expect this.' -- AFP

The video is trying to show a strong statement about using chemical preservatives and additives in our food, I remembered during our food and beverage course we did an experiment using bread make from those small traditional bread shop and bread from reputable brand purchased from Supermarket. Guess what? The bread from traditional bakery mound within 2 day as for the reputable brand last for a week! A lot of layman would not know that calcium used in bread is preservative, in the food industry would like you to believe, and this additive is not to keep your bread fresh. Calcium propionate (282) is added to inhibit the growth of mould. There is no mould on a freshly baked loaf of bread, so why use a mould inhibitor? Bakers, who keep their work benches and slicer blades clean and mould-free, by wiping with vinegar every day, do not need this additive. However, bakers in large factories prefer the less time-consuming method of "fogging" their equipment with a chemical spray. Putting hot loaves in plastic bags makes the problem worse. Preservative 282 allows for sloppy hygiene. It is for the convenience of the manufacturer not the consumer. Although is listed as calcium but not calcium exist in nature form. Today's approach is presentation and taste first and nutritional quality second or should I say a lonely last. The incompatible chemical additives and preservative dumped in our food during production daily is achieving just this, especially fast food. I guess we do not have a choice for our Clay pot rice preparation everything has to do it from scrape that is as fresh as it can get. Although sometime I still had flair for McDonald, but after seeing this video, maybe should down on french fries. By the way, if you of readers do conduct any research or experiments on food send me the link or video, we might reward you for your original production, creatively and efforts.

Kopi talk - English language or Chinese ?

Philippines are the third most populous English speaking country in the world, after India and the United States. Normally, Filipinos speak more deliberately and more clearly than Americans, whether they're speaking Tagalog or English. As a Singaporean sometime I talk too fast and it is hard to tell where my sentence ends, and another starts. Although,in Philippine, English language was introduced to the mainstream education. However only in private Schools almost all classes are in English, On the contrary public Schools where most Filipinos attended not all classes are taught in English until 1st grade and then only 1 or 2 classes. Frankly speaking like our good friends Mac and Margarette Chin speak crystal clear English without arg or la. But who to judge, we had our own brand of Slingish. With current China influence maybe who knows Chinese language might end up as a contender for the world languages bedside English. As for Slingish, Singaporean still retain the copyright !

Kopi Talk - The poor and the rich

Yo I often heard from my Singapore friends that Philippine is a poor country, I guess we should put it more in perceptive the country is far cry been poor in term of nature resources, mineral, maybe I guess poorly managed should be better phrase. Like all large developing world urban areas, Philippine might has a large number of poor residents. There are also many middle income and higher income residents. Thus, gives an impression of both prosperity and poverty. However it appears to be making substantial progress and resembles Bangkok much more than, say, Jakarta or any first world countries.
However, it might boil down to statistic percentage, which some country might have more in the poverty ranges. I guess the hand on approach to tackle the situation is more important than just paper work exercise. Singapore also has their fare share of those struggles to survive.

In Gamu, they hold a transvestite beauty pageant show. On the surface, Filipinos are more tolerant of transvestite than in Singapore. Some TV celebrities have come out of the closet and clubs and cabarets featuring heavily made-up drag queens are popular in Manila. But the predominantly Catholic country remains deeply conservative at heart, frowning on same-sex relationships and homosexual acts.
Like in Singapore or every corner of the world the stigma of being able to acceptance in the society.

Study Trip To Baguio - Differences between hot pot and Claypot Cooking
Posted by

Sunday, September 13, 2009
When I was in SM Baguio there was a restaurant selling clay pot rice I simply had to try the clay pot called in competitive instinct, however, when the ordered arrived we realized they seem to be confusion between clay pot rice and hot pot rice, practically, it was like comparing a person riding a carabao and a person carrying a carabao.
In a hotpot, ingredient was cooked and then served inside the hot pot to the customers, as for clay pot the art of cooking style that allows for cooking just about anything you like slowly and gently while retaining the juices and flavor. The best way to cook it is of course in a clay pot over the charcoal fire stove, but knowing what pot to use, knowing the duration of time cooking the food vary with different ingredient like meat, chicken, lamb etc. This come painstakingly through trial and error observation and years of experiences as a chef. Our Singapore clay pot rice ends to be somewhat greasy and has always a crispy with a little burnt layer of rice underneath (this is the best part which I love the most to enjoy the burn rice or “Sinangag”) the clay pot itself black and burnt as an evidence of prolong usage over a slow fire. This is what I distinguished between”real" clay pot rice from the common commercial "normal rice served in clay pot." version.

Kopi Talk - Who The richest Singaporean
Posted by
DES TAN

Friday, September 11, 2009
Singapore is emerging from its deepest recession since the island became an independent nation in 1965. Though the economy may shrink up to 6% this year, there are signs that the worst is over. GDP expanded in the second quarter for the first time in a year. Exports and manufacturing were up in July, and property prices and sales are picking up. The country’s main stock index has jumped almost 90% since its March low.
All of this has meant a boost in the fortunes of the nation’s richest. The total net worth of Singapore’s top 40 is $39 billion, up 20% from last year’s $32 billion. Ng Teng Fong is No. 1 again, worth $8 billion, $1 billion more than last year. Kuok Khoon Hong’s net worth is up $2.2 billion to $3.5 billion, thanks in part to a 70% jump in the stock price of palm oil firm Wilmar International.
Some of the increase is due to the addition of very wealthy newcomers such as the Kwee brothers, who debut at No. 4 with a combined net worth of $3.2 billion. The Kwee brothers, who equally share ownership of Pontiac Land, the property developer that owns the city—state’s Ritz—Carlton, are not new money and are well—known in Singapore’s business circle. But they were not previously included due to lack of reliable financial information.
Other rich—listers like the Lien family, previously listed under Margaret Lien, got a boost from the inclusion of relatives’ holdings (done to treat rich listers as evenly as possible and to provide the broadest snapshot of Singapore’s wealth).
Oversea—Chinese Banking Corp.’s Lee Seng Wee’s fortune got a bump for a similar reason as we decided to combine his fortune with that of his brother Lee Seng Tee, who was No. 32 last year.
One set of brothers not on the list: the Kewalram Chanrais. While a holding company called Kewalram Singapore owns 23% of Olam (the company the family helped found), worth almost $700 million, the brothers are apparently excluded as potential beneficiaries.
Malaysian citizen Ong Beng Seng is listed this year with his Singaporean wife, Christina, who last appeared herself on this list in 2007. The Ongs live in the city—state and together have stakes in Singapore companies NSL and Kuo International, run by her brother Peter Fu Chong Cheng, who debuts with a $570 million fortune.
Overall, 19 on the list added to their wealth, including real estate tycoon Koh Wee Meng, who builds affordable housing and runs budget hotels, and Yao Hsiu Tung, whose Hi—P makes components for consumer products companies including Research In Motion, Procter & Gamble and Apple.
Thirteen returning tycoons are poorer than they were a year ago. The biggest loser in percentage terms was ship builder Brian Chang, whose fortune dropped 71% to $160 million.
A minimum net worth of $135 million was needed to make the cut, up from $120 million in 2008, and four of last year’s top 40 fell short. One of them was Kartar Singh Thakral, as shares in Australia—listed real estate investment trust Thakral Holdings are down 60% since last year. Another dropoff was Wong Fong Fui, a newcomer we profiled last year but whose fortune fell along with the stock of his Boustead Singapore, down 35% in the past year.
Public fortunes were calculated using share prices and exchange rates as of Aug. 28, 2009. For privately held assets, we estimated what they would be worth if public. This ranking, unlike Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires, includes numerous nuclear family fortunes shared by individuals with their children and grandchildren, or with their siblings. Because so many fortunes include at least some relatives’ holdings, Forbes Asia no longer lists "and family" but rather details family information in the bios when appropriate. Where family fortunes are held by extended families, such as the Kwek cousins, we split them into separate entries.

Exotic Food Abalin or Fried Beetle Grub

Imagine the challenge of putting one this little creepy grub in your mouth, the grubs had a pleasant taste combined with a very chewy texture. In some ways, they were similar in taste to that rubbery thing that you find in chicken legs. Anyway, it took me close to two minutes of chewing the grub before I was able to swallow it.
The abalin were usually fried with a dash of vingear, pepper, and oil and serve well with beer. No wonder is a "pulutan" delicacy. To take it one step further, we create the abalin fried egg omelette protein powerhouse. Lol

Most consumers don't know that too much Phenylalanine is a neurotoxin and excites the neurons in the brain to the point of cellular death. The 1976 Groliers encyclopedia states cancer cannot live without phenylalanine. Phenylalanine makes up 50% of aspartame.
Phenylalanine is one of the essential amino acids found in proteins, Nature provides amino acids in combination; only man isolates them for processing purposes.
Phenylalanine is found naturally in foods such as eggs, milk, bananas, and meat. If you are PKU (Phenylketonuric) or sensitive to phenylalanine, you will react to the phenylalanine in aspartame. You may want to get a blood test to check for this condition. Over the past 20 years, humans have become more aware of PKU reactions because human beings began using isolated phenylalanine to the degree it is harmful to some individuals, many as aspartame side effects. My suggestion would be to research PKU and phenylalanine extensively. Phenylalanine can be very harmful to diabetics.
ADD/ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders can all be triggered by too much Phenylalanine in the daily diet. If you are one in ten thousand people who are PKU or carry the PKU gene, Phenylalanine can cause irreversible brain damage and death, especially when used in high quantities or during pregnancy. Phenylalanine is 50% of aspartame, and to the degree humans consume diet products, Phenylalanine levels are reaching a dangerous peak.
It is important to learn about the ingredients within your foods, especially isolated amino acids like Phenylalanine. They are in combination within nature for a reason - they don't belong in isolated form for the healthy human diet. Finally, all individuals with food allergies and intolerances are responsible for reading the labels and confirming ingredients of all products they intend to use.

Camp John Hay is a like Genting minus the Casino and a Singapore Botical Garden ć–°ĺŠ ĺťˇć¤Ťç‰©ĺ› inside the compound where they plenty of nature greenery, natural air-con cool climate, fog, rainforest. Camp John Hay is by far the most beautiful place in Baguio. It is a secluded area with the pine trees sheltering you like an umbrella. The Manor is located inside this beautiful place. I heard that some ghost hunters go to Camp John Hay in hopes of coming across spirits, but during our stay there we experienced no paranormal activities maybe SPI (Singapore Paranormal Investigator) should look into it. The facility, which was named after U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt's secretary of war, was used by the Japanese as a concentration camp for American and British soldiers during the war. Its name was changed to Club John Hay after it was turned over to the Philippine government. For the first time in its history the facility was open to the public in 1991 and converted into a recreational complex. It used to be off-limits to Filipinos, except for the privileged few who could get entry passes from its former American administrators, Majority of guest we meet were korean and Japanese who were deeply rooted in Baguio in business, education and other aspect of life, so far as usually yet to see another Singaporean. For those interested in playing golf, Camp John Hay has a 5,330-yard, 18-hole, par-68 golf course which is one of the best in the country. On the Flip side for food, they mostly dish out western menu and Philippines dish in La Chef with the usual western style menu, but no dispute the salad vegetables is very fresh and they has excellent cakes and pastries! Sinfully delicious!
