Kopi Talk - The poor and the rich

Yo I often heard from my Singapore friends that Philippine is a poor country, I guess we should put it more in perceptive the country is far cry been poor in term of nature resources, mineral, maybe I guess poorly managed should be better phrase. Like all large developing world urban areas, Philippine might has a large number of poor residents. There are also many middle income and higher income residents. Thus, gives an impression of both prosperity and poverty. However it appears to be making substantial progress and resembles Bangkok much more than, say, Jakarta or any first world countries.
However, it might boil down to statistic percentage, which some country might have more in the poverty ranges. I guess the hand on approach to tackle the situation is more important than just paper work exercise. Singapore also has their fare share of those struggles to survive.
