Kopi talk - "Heads I win..."

Hi Rene Thanks for the article you are right the mental and physical health of a candidate is of paramount importance especially if he is running for the presidency which involves not only national security but also the future of this country in Singapore it applies to all officer who hold the colour of office.

Yes, heads I win, tails you lose, this is the wrong principle that is applied by some politicians. There is also a saying in Visayan "Inday kun musogot ka sa akong gugma humot ka, kun dili baho ka." (Lady if you accept my love you smell good, but if you dont, you stink.) This is what I have observed in the statements of a political party regarding issues, for example: In the case of defections from the Lakas CMD(L-KCMD) when the politicians go for the NP, they are rejects of the LP, because they only accept the people who are principled and accept their program of government. The change of allegiance to the LP of Governor Joey Salceda of Albay who until recently is or was the close adviser of President Arroyo had generated a lot of comments from the newly formed "palabra de honor"(word of honor) caucus of governors. It was Salceda who initiated that caucus Tuesday last week, to conduct a loyalty check of the League of Provinces of the Philippines, when its Chair Misamis Oriental Governor Loreto Ocampo went over to the LP, and it's President Camarines Sur Governor El Rey Villafuerte went over to the NP. The reaction of the "palabra de honor" caucus of governors is strongly worded and uncomplimentary to Governor Salceda, hence I will not write about it. Another item was the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines VP candidates forum where in Loren Legarda, NP VP candidate, was asked what she thought about (alleged) womanizers Pacquiao, Dolphy, and Revillame endorsing Manny Villar, NP Presidential candidate. Legarda replied, "who am I to judge?" In the context of said question Msgr. Pedro Quitorio, CBCP media director asked, "why select a person who is immoral if our goal is to build a country?" I do not wish to add to the problem of the Catholic Church. Let me just say that the yellow TV and radio network went to town exploiting said questions. Now some good Catholics are asking the question why Pacquiao et. al., and why only Villar? What about others who are endorsing/campaigning for other presidential candidates like the LP candidate? Are they all saints or are some of them like Saul (St. Paul) or Mary of Magdala, before they were converted? Is this another "heads I win etc.?" and or "you stink if you dont like me" principle? Another item: The Council of Philippine Affairs (COPA) led by its Chair J. Cojuangco had a caucus at their ancestral home in Dasmariñas Village. Said meeting was organized, "to acknowledge the personalities who are exclusively supporting Noynoy," according to their chair. Indeed this was a grand reunion attended by the Aquino-Cojuangco clan and mostly "yellow" personalities who were "somebodies" who served in the Cory administration. Senator Mar Roxas was not invited because this party was only for those people who supported Noynoy only, said a personality in said party. The honoree Noynoy Aquino stayed until the end of the reunion. Also in attendance was Ronald Lumbao, Head of People's Movement Against Poverty who pledged his support to the LP presidential candidate. People are wondering if this is the same person who is attacking Sen. Roxas with full page ads in the newspapers? Clearly Kamaganak Inc. is very much alive and is ready to do battle for Noynoy. With the said latest developments about the Lakas-KCMD stalwarts jumping to the LP and NP, politicians now say that if there is a "Villaroyo" there is also an "Aquinoroyo." Frankly, this is nothing but black proganda, since I believe that the "Exodus" is an attempt by said defectors to save themselves. Finally, the mental and physical health of a candidate is of paramount importance especially if he is running for the presidency which involves not only national security but also the future of this country. Entry into the PMA, PNP, and even getting a firearm license requires a psychiatric medical certificate... I suggest that both Villar, Aquino, and all other presidential candidates authorize in writing their physicians to release their personal medical records.
