News Update Militants stage rally at St. Luke's, call for Arroyo's incarceration

Security was tightened at a hospital where former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is staying, after a lightning rally by some 20 militants Sunday morning.
Some 20 protesters slipped past security and chanted slogans calling for Arroyo's "real" incarceration, radio dzBB's Manny Vargas reported.
"Gloria sa Correctional hindi sa Hospital (Keep Gloria in the correctional, not in the Hospital)!" and "Gloria Ikulong (Jail Gloria)!" read the slogans on the placards of the protesters, the report said.
Also, the militants from Bayan Muna "reminded" the public of the human rights violations under Arroyo's watch.
However, the militants were blocked before they could get to the hospital's driveway.
Security personnel and police watching the hospital escorted the militants away from the driveway and lobby, and seized their placards, the report said.
Arroyo was placed under arrest last Friday night for electoral sabotage, but has been staying at the hospital since Tuesday night due to ill health. — LBG
