News Update P100 million for a CCTV of ballot switching?

Senator Loren Legarda has denied reports she offered P100 million just to get a copy of a CCTV video showing the switching of ballots at the House of Representatives.

Instead, Legarda urged the group who owns a footage of the alleged break-in to surrender the video for free in aid of the poll fraud case.

“Saan ako kukuha ng P100 million? Pagkatapos kaming dinaya ni FPJ, binebentahan pa ako ng video kung papaano kami dinaya,” the Senator said.

Legarda said that the group allowed her to watch the break-in video but refused to give it to her for free. She further revealed that the video has been offered to other senators and TV stations for a price since 2005.

“Ang sinabi ko ibigay na lang ang video sa amin para makatulong sila sa kaso sa Supreme Court,” she added.

The senator, however, said that she is not sure if the court can use it as evidence for the electoral sabotage case against former president, now Pampanga representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
“Ipapaubaya ko na sa Korte Suprema at DOJ ang pagdesisyon tungkol sa kaso ng dating pangulong Arroyo. I won’t comment on it. I’m the only direct and living victim of the 2004 electoral fraud. Ano man ang sabihin ko, pabor o hindi, ay magkakakulay,” Legarda stressed.
In 2004, Legarda, a former news personality lost to her network colleague Noli de Castro.
She said that what’s important now is to claim vindication and justice from the alleged cheating.
