News Update Shipping exec kidnapped

MANILA, Philippines - A 27-year-old manager of a shipping firm was kidnapped by at least six men in police uniforms as he was biking with friends in Las Piñas City yesterday morning.
Chief Inspector Noel Calapatia said the victim’s firm transports petroleum products all over the country.
The victim was riding his bicycle along with some friends, with his driver following in a car, along Daang Hari Road in front of the Versailes Subdivision in Barangay Almanza Dos when a Mitsubishi Adventure cut them off at around 7:30 a.m.
At least six men – other reports state there were eight – wearing Philippine National Police athletic uniforms got out of the Adventure and forced the victim into the vehicle. The men carried M-16 rifles and .45 caliber pistols, according to witnesses.
According to police reports, the men sped away after taking the victim. The Adventure’s license plate, WBF-237, is registered to a Toyota Innova, police said.
The Las Piñas police have yet to get leads on the kidnappers. - By Perseus Echeminada
