News Update Slater Young earns Pinoy Trending King moniker

MANILA, Philippines - He may be a newbie but "Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited" grand winner Slater Young is already making waves in show business. In fact, his activities have become significant events for his fans-loyal supporters that don't just follow him, they also "talk" about him a lot on Twitter-that he's become a constant trending topic on the social networking site. For this, Slater has earned the Pinoy Trending King title.
Slater's popularity has indeed grown, and the video diary shown on "TV Patrol" on May 2 affirms just that.
For one, the "PBB" grand winner was given a very warm hero's welcome in his father's hometown of Dipolog City where, upon his arrival, he was mobbed by shrieking fans.
Overwhelmed by the attention he's been receiving, the Cebuano engineer says, "I'm very happy because no one expected it."
As for him becoming a regular trending topic on Twitter, he shared, "Nakikita ko 'yung level of support na binigay ng mga fans, the group of people supporting me. I think sobrang sipag din nilang magpa-trend kahit 'yung konti [lang na message] like 'hello, Slater' nagte-trend."'
Although he's already left the "PBB" house, Slater is still updated on what's happening on "Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4" and is aware of the recent goings-on among the housemates. He even knows who are quarrelling and who are the constant sources of Kuya's headaches.
But Slater believes that it's not right to pass judgment on the housemates this early.
"A lot of times I can relate na kung ano ang napi-feel nila," he enthused. "'Yung emotions there inside the house are ten times yata [ang intensity] kasi... parang, 'yung senses mo 'yun lang ang nakikita, 'yun lang ang napi-feel."
Slater now faces the challenge of making some headway in the acting department. He just appeared in an episode of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" last April 28.
