Crime is everywhere. It can happen to anyone at the most unexpected times. As good citizens it is our duty to practice due diligence in order to mitigate criminal activity. To combat crime we must keep ourselves informed of the various modus opeandi (modes of operation) of criminals. I recently received a very informative e-mail from my friends. It contains a table of various criminal activity and how they are executed.
Keep yourselves informed. As G.I. Joe would put it, “knowing is half the battle”. The other half, is having a decent knowledge of self-defense and forcing criminal attackers into submission. Just kidding. Criminals would do anything so when attacked, RUN LIKE HELL!!!
Most crimes are committed on the streets, while riding on public transportation, in shopping malls, and in other areas with high people concentration.
The most frequent crimes perpetrated across the metropolis are pick-pocketing, robbery, confidence schemes, and to a lesser degree, credit card fraud.
While these crimes are common to many other major cities, the names could be different for these are the ones used mainly in Metro Manila.
