Zamboanga City (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - As authorities are still trying to recover naturalized American Gerfa Yeatts Lunsmann and her son from their suspected abductors, armed men struck in Jolo on Wednesday evening and kidnapped a couple, the police said Thursday.
Superintendent John Morales, Sulu police chief, said the victims, ambulant vendors selling cooking utensils, were inside their boarding house when forcibly taken with another victim around 8 p.m.
The third victim was able to escape as the armed men were dragging the three of them, Morales said.
"The escaped captive is under the custody of the police now," Morales said without providing any identity.
