ANILA, Philippines – Eight people died while 51 others were hurt after a passenger bus plunged into a ravine in Kalinga province yesterday afternoon, police said.
Police Chief Inspector Nordave Calderon identified the fatalities as Jamari Ricardo, Christopher Cuesta, Samson Ao-as, Jojo Baunoya, Chinya Fokyas, Boy Alunday, Francis Macliing and Shanalyn Cawilan.
Meanwhile, the 51 injured passengers, two of whom were in serious condition, were brought to the Kalinga provincial hospital for treatment.
Initial report showed that the Lovely Mae bus (AYA-268) was on its way to Tabuk City from Bontoc around 2 p.m. when it fell off a ravine in Brgy. Naneng.
