News Update Fugitive nabbed in Aurora

BALER, Aurora - Combined Filipino and American immigration agents and police operatives from the Aurora and Pangasinan provincial police offices arrested an American national who has been listed as a fugitive and had been hiding in the country for several years now because of alleged federal crimes he committed. Supt. Harris Fama, provincial information officer of the Pangasinan provincial police office, identified the arrested fugitive as Robert Nicol, alias "Bob," 59, an alleged businessman from the United States (US). As a background, in May 2005, Nicol began doing business under Gold Star Vending, Inc. located in Midvale, Utah. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) learned Nicol fled the United States of America for the Philippines. A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) authority in the US has information that Robert Nicol may be hiding in Nueva Ecija, Baguio City, Pangasinan, and in Aurora province. Follow up operations made by FBI and the Philippine National Police (PNP) with employment of informers led to the specific location of Nicol at Sitio Puntian, Barangay Sabali, Baler, Aurora. Nicol was arrested at 5 p.m. last March 30 by virtue of an order of deportation and a Federal warrant of arrest issued by the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida in Miami Florida for violation of Title 18, USC Section 371, 1343, and 2326, conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
