Three Chinese nationals were arrested on Tuesday in an anti-illegal drug raid in Pasay City, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
The Chinese nationals, identified as Alex Li Sy, Jason Li Chua and Jinzhy Gou, were nabbed at 11 a.m. Tuesday in a townhouse in BF Resort in Las Pinas City the group reportedly used as a shabu laboratory, PNP spokesperson Agrimero Cruz Jr. said in a text message.
Recovered from the suspects were five kilograms of unfinished shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), as well as equipment used in making the illegal drug, according to Cruz.
A Toyota Fortuner vehicle was also recovered at the area, the PNP spokesperson added.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) earlier said drug syndicates in Metro Manila usually set up their laboratories in posh subdivisions and condominium buildings to take advantage of the tight security in these areas. - ACC/JV
