News Update Car thieves prey on radio reporter's van in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines – Car thieves have seized the van of a radio reporter in Quezon City this morning.

A white 2010 Toyota Grandia (with plate number ZSA-299) owned by DZMM reporter Karl Balita was reportedly taken by unidentified men while it was parked on the corner of Timog Avenue and Mother Ignacia Street in Quezon City.

The Highway Patrol Group has already alerted other police units in tracking down the suspects.

The incident came a few days after car trader Emerson Lozano, son of former Marcos lawyer Oliver Lozano, was abducted with his driver last Jan. 12 at a gas station along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City where they were supposed to meet a buyer of a van he was selling.

The younger Lozano's charred body was discovered later in a grassy lot in Porac, Pampanga. The Kia van Lozano was selling was found burning yesterday in Bataan. - By Dino Maragay
