PAMPANGA -- Twenty-seven schoolchildren in Angeles City were rushed to a hospital Wednesday after eating the fruits of the Galumbang tree or Tuba-tuba (Jatropha curcas).
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the kids were confined overnight at Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) and were discharged at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The NDRRMC report said the children picked and ate the fruit after being convinced by a man identified as Edwin Balbuena.
The children felt dizzy and vomited after eating the fruit.
