CEBU CITY -- At least 24 families were left homeless in a fire Wednesday afternoon, the second blaze to hit a community in this city this week.
A boy, a third grade pupil, reportedly injured his foot when he tried to jump into a creek to escape the fire, but a dangling wire snagged his foot.
The fire destroyed eight houses in Riverside Sitio Lahing-lahing, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, near a creek located behind the Queen City Garden cemetery.
Two other houses were partially burned, and damage to property was placed at P200,000.
