BBQ is a way of life in Philippine Jollie Bee a fast-food restaurant chain based in the Philippines. It is an
American-style fast-food restaurant with Filipino-influenced dishes
specializing in burgers, is also serving up Honey Baked BBQ chicken.
HOMEGROWN FAST FOOD giant Jollibee Foods Corp. is
continuing its overseas expansion, pointing to a huge untapped
market
even amid the global economic downturn.
In a statement, the listed fast food chain said it would open
19
stores abroad this year, three more than the 16 outlets opened
last
year.
Jollibee Foods has 651 branches nationwide and 49 overseas. Of
the 19
new stores, seven will be opened in the United States, four each in
Saudi Arabia and Vietnam, and one each in Brunei and Qatar. "We
envision
that by 2020, Jollibee will have 4,000 stores, 75% of which are
outside
[the country]," Dennis Flores, vice-president for international
operations, said.Jollibee Foods is also looking at investing in Macau, he said.
Mr. Flores said expansion plans have not been affected by the
global
economic downturn as demand remains strong.
