Naturally, class95cafe and Restaurant for the past 11 months, we had slowly building up our restaurants customers base, Concurrently, the biggest thing happening here we also had streaming of customers coming in to our restaurant looking for a career move to work in Singapore. Informally, we had managed a few successful arrangement with my contacts in Singapore for direct hiring involved relatives and friends, some of Filipino relative and friends are now working in Singapore. We still receiving thank you card and also kept a constant contact call from them. However, everyone of them had highlighted to me as a first timer who work in different country and culture can come as a shock to them and expectation of quality work is not easy task. Most of them agrees that my hints, tips and daily interaction with me was a great help physiologically .
Tips like most Singaporean speak English in their daily dealing young or old. Secondly, job interview are conducted in English. Thirdly, we addressed people a title plus the last name. For the Filipino this should be no problem everyone here was addressed as Sir/Mdm over everywhere in Sari Sari shop, saloon and wet market, Finally, time frame through my personal experience, Filipino not all, but majority in the high percentage, when Isang oras mean when they make an appointment at 1pm , you might expect the supplier, customers to come about 2 pm. Henceforth, I had advice those who are going to work in Singapore should be aware of the time frame, Singaporean conducted business with formality that it is important that one is always on time for meeting, seminar and company function, job interview. I still remembered my first job back in the 80s, late for 8 minutes and was given a boot out before even arrived in the Human Resources office. Finally, Tune in for next Tips and Hint of working in Singapore --- Good luck
