THREE persons died after armed men shot and hacked them on Sunday evening in Sitio San Roque, Barangay San Antonio, Talakag, Bukidnon.
Police Senior Inspector Adulfo Mercado of Talakag Police Station identified the victims as couple Joel and Miriam Arban and their niece Kim Olegario.
Mercado said the victims were already asleep when the suspects knocked on their door.
He said when Joel opened the door, the suspects immediately shot him at close range and hacked him.
When his wife noticed the incident, she attempted to escape by jumping out of the window but the suspects were able to chase her. They also shot her and hacked her with a bolo.
When the suspects found the couple’s niece, they also shot and hacked her.
The victims died on the spot and were not anymore brought to the hospital.
It was learned that there were four people inside the house when the incident happened but the survivor managed to hide and saw what happened.
Mercado said the police are still trying to find out about the motive of the murder.
He said the suspects were already identified but refused to disclose their identities as they are still looking for their whereabouts. (Stephanie V. Berganio)
