MANILA, Philippines – A suspected armed robber was killed while his accomplice was arrested after they held up a coffee shop in a commercial district in Las Pinas City this morning, a radio report said.
Police identified the slain suspect only as Dennis, who died from gunshot wounds while being treated at the Perpetaual Help hospital, the report added.
Meanwhile, the other suspect, who was arrested after a brief shootout with police, was identified as Raymond Gacungan.
Initial report showed that two suspects shot it out with policemen after the gunmen hogtied the service crew of Starbucks coffee shop and robbed the store of its cash in Pampalona 2 area along the Alabang-Zapote Road.
Police recovered the money and a cal. 38 revolver from the suspects. - By Dennis Carcamo
