MANILA, Philippines – Five alleged hijackers and their cohorts have been arrested by police, who recovered around P1.2 million worth of cargo after a two-day manhunt operation in Laguna and Quezon, an official disclosed today.
Chief Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome, police regional office director in Calabarzon, identified the suspects as Arman Flores, Danilo Sarmiento, Sonny Casino, Alvin Diamante and Rustom Gantia.
Bartolome said the suspects were rounded up by operatives for their involvement in the hijacking of a 10-wheeler cargo truck, owned by Renato Hingan, loaded with brandy at Turbina, Calamba City, Laguna, last Aug. 12. - By Dennis Carcamo
