A fire of as-yet undetermined origin broke out at the Makati Medical Center (MMC) on Saturday afternoon, local fire officials said.
Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 2 Librado Villanueva, radio operator at the Makati City Central Fire Department, told GMANews.TV that the blaze started in a laboratory in the hospital's basement at around 1:50 p.m.
Villanueva said that the fire was "not big" and firefighters declared the fire out at 2:30 p.m.
Arson investigators are still at the scene of the fire to assess damage to the building, even as the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. - TJD
