A RECENT tightening of Philippine laws has made it tougher for employers here to hire Filipinas as domestic workers, in a move aimed at improving the 'protection and welfare' of Filipino migrant workers, said the Philippine embassy here. Those bound for jobs here without the proper papers have been stopped from leaving the country.
