News Update Korean shot dead in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines – A Korean national was killed this morning after being shot by gunmen in the boundary of Pasig City and and Cainta, Rizal, police said.

Police identified the victim as Cho Tae Hwan, who suffered several gunshot wounds. The victim's companions, Kim Young Gun and Kim Hyoung Sik, were reportedly abducted by the suspects. They were safely released later, police added.

Initial investigation showed that the three Koreans were on board a dark blue Chevrolet van (XEV-328) traveling along Ortigas Avenue extension, Sta. Lucia, when they were blocked by a white van in front of a mall at the boundary of Pasig and Cainta, Rizal.

The suspects alighted the white van and repeatedly shot Hwan.
