MANILA, Philippines – A Navy helicopter crashed into the sea this morning in Zamboanga City, with two pilots still missing, a spokesman said.
Navy spokesman Lt. Col. Edgard Arevalo said the Navy Bolkov chopper was on a routine flight mission when it plunged into the sea between Great Sta. Cruz and Little Sta. Cruz islands in Zamboanga City around 11 a.m.
Areval said three of the aircraft's occupants – Police officer 2's Rodolfo Pataueg, Noel Ridad, and Abdon Martinez – were rescued. They have been brought to Camp Navarro General Hospital.
Search and rescue teams are now scouring the sea for the two pilots, whose names have yet to be divulged by officials. - By Dennis Carcamo
