BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi - As the three-day celebration of Tawi-Tawi's 37th founding anniversary wraps up Monday, Gov. Sadikul Sahali has renewed his vow and assured the people and officials of the 11 towns regarding his commitment to continue his program of government aimed at improving further the economy of the province. During the culmination of the festivities, Sahali spelled out his vision and direction of government to all those who shared their time, particularly the national, provincial, and local officials, including the police and military. "I want to make it sure that I would be able to leave a legacy to the people of the province when I vow out of service as your governor in 2013," Sahali told the crowd. He emphasized that in the next three years, his government will continue to concentrate in the improvement and development of the education system in the province coupled with the needed socio and economic development, including the promotion of the tourism industry here. Sahali also underscored the importance of the soon-to-be completed P100 million Sanga-Sanga/Lapit/Lapid Bridge which is expected to greatly contribute to the trade and commerce in the entire province of Tawi-Tawi.

With the completion of the bridge, Sahali said that farmers from the various areas of mainland Tawi-Tawi could easily transport their produce to this town - the center of trade and commerce in the province. As this developed, the Tawi-Tawi governor also called on the people here to unite and continue to be united for the betterment and improvement of the entire province. He explained that without unity, his government could hardly achieve the needed socio-economic development of the province. "I call on each and every one of you, to help one another and be united for the betterment and development of our province - the only one we have in our country," Sahali said. As a response to the call, town officials stood up and embraced each another as they vowed to help Sahali in his vision for the development of Tawi-Tawi.
