BRUNEI DARUSSALAM - President Benigno Aquino III and his official delegation visited one of the 11 branches of fastfood chain Jollibee in Brunei as part of his state visit to the small oil-rich country.
Jollibee officials gave the President a hamburger but due to numerous requests for picture taking with Filipinos in Brunei, Aquino was not able to eat the burger.
The President stayed inside the Jollibee branch in Muara for around 15 minutes.
He then proceeded to Muara Container Port, which is maintained and managed by another Filipino firm, the International Container Port Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI).
The President was welcomed by ICTSI President and Chairman Enrique Razon; Jose Manuel de Jesus, vice-president for business development and managing director of the Muara Port, and Rico Cruz, the port's general manager.
The New Muara Container Terminal is located in the Muara Port, which is the main trade gateway for Brunei Darussalam.
It has a capacity of 220,000 twenty foot equivalent unit containers per year covering an area of 5 hectares.
ICTSI has 19 port management contracts and developments in 13 countries worldwide.
