Cops on manhunt vs stabbing suspect

..AUTHORITIES are now tracking down a man who stabbed his former live-in partner several times on Thursday night in Barangay Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro. Senior Police Officer 4 Pedrito Galpo of Cogon Police Station identified the suspect as Ernesto M. Tagocon, 39, a resident of Barangay Lapasan. Galpo said Tagocon alleged stabbed Romelba D. Doyasan, 21, a native of Mat-i in Claveria, Misamis Oriental but is currently residing at Imburnal in Barangay Camaman-an. Doyasan was rushed to a nearby hospital in the area by responding operatives of Cogon Police Station and is reportedly in critical condition after sustaining multiple stab wounds in different parts of her body. Galpo said Tagocon fled after the incident. Police initial investigation showed that the incident happened around 6 p.m. inside the rented house of the victim. Galpo said a concerned citizen called up the station informing the police about the stabbing incident in the area. Responding team led by Police Inspector Venancio Z. Centurias, deputy station commander of Cogon Police Station, saw Doyasan lying on the floor and bathed with blood. Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver with 10 live ammunitions, an improvised ice pick, an eight-inch knife, and passport owned by the suspect and other pertinent documents at the crime scene. Further investigation also showed that the suspect and the victim were former live-in partners but allegedly separated because the suspect has been abusing the victim. “It seems the suspect wanted the victim back but she refused, which resulted to the stabbing,” police said. Operatives of Cogon Police Station are now doing further investigation and pursuit operation. (ALR) ..
