SHOP owners at Orchard Plaza got a shock when they came to work today. The lobby of the shopping mall had been cordoned off and there was blood on the floor.

A security officer told RazorTV he saw a group of five men slashing a 28-year-old man in the lobby before fleeing on foot. He alerted the police immediately. The victim, a Malay man, was sent to hospital and pronounced dead at 4.58am.

A parang and two choppers were subsequently found within the vicinity, but there were no visible blood stains on them. Police suspect them to be murder weapons.
