News Update Philippine 2 fishermen surrender P45-million worth of cocaine

CAMP RUPERTO KANGLEON, PALO, Leyte - Two fishermen from Eastern Samar have surrendered cocaine worth P45 million to authorities, a police report said.

PCSupt. Rey Lañada, police regional director, Region Office 8, said that two fishermen from San Policarpo, Eastern Samar surrendered nine bricks of cocaine valued at P5 million each last July 16.

Lañada disclosed that Gregorio Gabilan, 44, married, of barangay Alugan, San policarpo, E. Samar, surrendered to the police in San Policarpo, six bricks of cocaine.

Winceslao del Monte, married, of barangay Cahagwayan, also of San Policarpo, have surrendered three bricks of cocaine.

Lanada said that the surrender of the illegal drugs was the result of the information dissemination made by his office after they urged the public to surrender cocaine bricks to the police.
