SINGAPORE Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero) is expanding its foothold in China with plans for a new aircraft maintenance facility in Guangzhou.
The US$99 million project will be a joint venture with Guangdong Airport Management Corporation taking a 51 per cent stake and ST Aero the remaining share, the company said on Tuesday.
To be located at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the new facility will comprise two hangars which will be able to house four widebody aircraft.
The first hangar should be ready by end-2012.
This is ST Aero's fourth project in China.
The firm has two aircraft maintenance facilities in Shanghai and a logistics centre in Xiamen
