"Extending assistance to schools in the community where parents can send their children to earn quality education is one of our duties as peace keeping forces of the community," Clemen said.
He also said that every child deserves quality education and "it is a part of our responsibility to extend to them as peace keeping forces."

Clemen said that a short study they conducted showed that poverty and lack of education are some of the reasons why armed conflicts prevail among the constituents in Basilan.
An initial of 30 students were recipients of a scholarship program from the 1st Marine Brigade and the Task Force Archipelago of the US forces.
The program will provide educational assistance to students of the Tumahubong National High School in the municipality of Sumisip.
