News Update D.T.I. to organize retailers' group

DAVAO CITY - The Region 11 office here of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-11) will be creating an organization of retailers' associations in each of the provinces in the Davao Region, DTI-11 Director Marizon S. Loreto said. Loreto said this would strengthen the involvement of private sector partners in consumer education and enforcement. "DTI-11 is designing this program to strengthen the retail sector and build their competence to adopt pro-active strategies toward building a dynamic retail sector in this part of the region," she said. The agency is also foreseeing strengthened compliance to government's Fair Trade Laws. (Mick Basa)
