News Update Support for public service excellence urged

ILOILO CITY, Iloilo, Philippines (PIA) - Government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work performance deserve recognition, thus, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Region 6 is urging them to join in the 2011 Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees under the Honor Awards Program (HAP).

CSC 6 said the HAP is part of the CSC's advocacy to promote a culture of excellence and to recognize and reward women and men for their outstanding work performance, contribution and superior accomplishments, or for consistent manifestation of exemplary ethical behavior in the public service.

There are three award categories under such program - the Presidential or Lingkod Bayan Award, the Outstanding Public Official and Employee or the Dangal ng Bayan Award, and the CSC Pagasa Award.

These awards allow individuals or organizations with extensive knowledge of the outstanding work performance and/or exemplary ethical behavior of any official, employee or group/team in government service to be nominated for a specific category.

CSC 6 said that aside from individual nominations for the Presidential or Lingkod Bayan and the CSC Pagasa Awards, group/team nominations are also encouraged.

Nomination forms and the required documentation are contained in the 2011 Enhanced HAP Guidelines and program flyer which may be secured from the CSCRO6 or any of its Field Offices or downloaded at www.csc.gov.ph.
