News Update Solar power in Kalinga TABUK, Kalinga -

About 150 households in the province are targeted to be energized this year through solar energy which is an environmentally-friendly and descent source of electricity being introduced in the countryside as part of the renewable energy program of the government. Engr. Sammy Bayangan of the Office of the Congressman informed that Congressman Manuel Agyao worked out with the Department of Energy (DoE) for the lighting of 150 households in the province which will serve as the initial wave of introducing the renewable source of energy. (Dexter See) D.P.W.H. adopts bioengineering The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) here decided to adopt the so-called bioengineering because it seems that the various measures used in the said endeavor are the answers the agency has been searching for to guarantee sustainable development, especially among roads and bridges which are considered as vital infrastructure. Engr. Edilberto Carabbacan, DPWH-CAR regional director, revealed the agency had been successful in many areas in using environmentally-friendly materials. (Dexter See)
