COTABATO CITY, Philippines (Xinhua) - Gunmen seized two students late Saturday inside their campus in the southern Philippines, police said Sunday. The victims, Chrisniel Gulfan, 24, and Aubrey Virtudez, 19, were forcibly taken by armed men in an internet shop inside a university in the southern city of Marawi, said regional police commander Chief Superintendent Beinvenido Latag. Latag said the two are students of Mindanao State University and they were brought by their captors to nearby Piagapo township in Lanao del Sur province. ''We are investigating the abduction. We have launched a search and rescue mission for the victims,'' said Latag. No group claimed responsibility for the abduction.
