Alfred Vargas In No Rush To Run For Congress

MANILA, Philippines - Actor turned councilor Alfred Vargas remains undecided on seeking higher office next year though he divulged that many believe he should do so.

"Maraming nagpu-push sa atin, 'yung mga tao may clamor na tumakbo tayo for Congress, for higher office," the incumbent councilor of the 2nd district of Quezon City told abs-cbnNEWS.com in an article posted Friday.

"October pa naman 'yung filing so hindi muna natin masyadong iniisip."

Still, it seems the voting populace of Quezon City has been supportive of the idea as reflected by surveys done in Vargas' area of responsibility.

"Parang gusto nila mag-Congress na kasi bagong district siya. Mukhang very positive naman at very encouraging ang mga tao at surveys," he said.

Having been in politics since 2010, Alfred has learned that a public servant's post is riddled with "bittersweet" events and affairs. Nevertheless, he has come to terms with all the facets of his job-the good, the bad and the difficult.

"Ang laki ng responsibility sa balikat mo pero at the end of the day, sobrang fulfilling kasi marami kang natutulungan," he said
