In Philippine chronic brownouts. power failure almost become a way of life here in Manila or in the province, as Singaporean when there a power failure initially trigger understandable strong reaction, however it seemed that 98 million of the population is not complaining and consequently, many businesses are buying their own generators, life proceed as normal who am I to whine about. Let they say "When In Rome (Do As The Romans Do)"get a generator. That Life !

BUSINESS came to a standstill yesterday afternoon at Tekka Market when the power went off on the ground level at about noon. It was restored at about 3pm.
Power supply to the upper level of the two-storey market was not affected. The affected stallholders were irate when The Sunday Times visited the market at 2.30pm.
Mr Mohamed Suban, 56, who sells mutton at the market, said: 'I am losing money as the meat is starting to spoil with the coolers down. The authorities have to act fast as meat rots fast, especially since it is so hot.'
He added that meat had a shelf life of only three hours in a fridge with no power. He said many stallholders had been calling the power provider since the power failure.
He said they were also referred to the Tanjong Pagar Town Council but there was no reply.
