News Update Japan gives P32.9-million grant aid to Mindanao


The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) said Thursday that Japan is extending US$732,749 (P32.9 million) in grant assistance for various projects in Central Mindanao under the Japan-Bangsamoro Initiatives for Reconstruction and Development (J-BIRD).

In a press statement, the OPAPP said that Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Makoto Katsura will lead Japanese embassy officials during a grant contract signing that will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City on Monday.

Philippine officials to be led by Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Annabelle T. Abaya; Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Rafael E. Seguis and Dr. Zafrullah Dipatuan, vice chairman of the Bangsamoro Development Agency, will attend the signing ceremony, the OPAPP added.(Francis Wakefield)
