News Update CARAGA LAUNCHES DRIVE VS DENGUE BUTUAN CITY

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in the Caraga Region, along with the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13), conducted a two-day massive clean-up drive to address the increasing number of cases of dengue fever in Region 13. The DILG and PRO 13 mobilized their personnel in the clean-up drive after the Region 13 office of the Department of Health (DoH 13) reported the increase of dengue cases in the region which reached a total of 2,001 cases.

The campaign was aimed at destroying the breeding sites of the aedis egypti mosquitoes in the 1,625 villages in the region, specifically those with high incidence of dengue cases. The DILG 13 Regional Management Coordinating Committee headed by DILG 13 Director Rene K. Burdeos, with PRO 13 spearheaded by Chief Supt. Lino D. Calingasan, coordinated with the municipal and village officials, health workers, and barangay peacekeeping action teams to ensure well-coordinated activities. (Mike Crismundo
