MANILA, Philippines --- Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) President Gwenn Albarracin believes that marketing plays a very important role in nation's growth and as such, it is crucial that marketers stay attuned to today's global trends.
Albarracin shared this during a roundtable interview with the media to promote this year's Asian Marketing Conference (AMC), dubbed as "Asiannovation 2: Unleash the Asian Marketing Masters," which will be held on July 19 to 20 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
"Our belief is that companies who will continue to grow and survive are those who will continue to innovate and transform themselves," Albarracin said. Asiannovation 2, she added, will be the venue for local and international marketing practitioners in learning the latest developments in the global marketing industry.
"This is the second Assianovation and this is very much related to PMA's theme for year's which is 'Marketing Evolution: Innovations and Transformations,"' she said. According to her, entrepreneurs, SMEs, business heads and even students are expected to learn from our Asian neighbors through Asiannovation 2.
Donald Patrick Lim, Managing Director of MRM Manila and this year's Overall Chairperson of AMC, says this is very timely as it will definitely help marketers to face today's challenges of innovation, adding that the two-day conference is "also a good follow up to the recently-held ADB Board of Governors' 45th Annual Meeting, in terms of boosting the country's image as successful organizers of global events."
He added that as our neighboring Asian countries have embraced the digital innovations, we need to adjust as well to the changing marketing world. "Our regional counterparts have leveled up, if you don't change with the innovation, your business will go down," Lim said.
Asiannovation 2 will have Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez who will discuss his role in DoT as "The Toughest Marketing Job in the World." He will join Indonesia's Hermawan Kartajaya, president of the World Marketing Federation and founder of the Asian Marketing Federation. Kartajaya, who leads Asia-based management consultancy firm MarkPlus&Co., is highly-recognized in the marketing world for his brilliant strategic business concepts.
