News Update Bohol Wants Tourism Data to Support Future Policies

AGBILARAN CITY (PIA) - Many, including the provincial government, are wondering whether or not tourism is really the miracle engine fueling the boost in Bohol's economy. Devoid of any data needed to confirm or deny this possible factor, Capitol is now eyeing a study to be commissioned to find out if, indeed, progress in the provincial economy could be rightly attributed to tourism.

At a recent Kapihan sa PIA aired live over local radio station DyTR, researchers with the Holy Name University disclosed that Capitol is now formalizing negotiations with a local research firm to use tourism profiles of towns as baseline data laying the substrata of the economic wonder engine claim. Holy Name University's Bohol Poll, which has a track record of credibility after conducting accurate predictions in regular annual surveys since 1998 could be Capitol's choice of partner in said survey.
